Forest Fantasy

Greenline Foundation organised a day and evening journey through nature, hosted at the Ognon Forest on August 27, 2022. The objective: celebrate the forests through art and share our mission with the public.

Art in the Forest

The thousand years old Ognon Forest Park and its rich biodiversity composed, for the time of a week-end, a unique natural setting to the 25 pieces of art.

Among this open-air gallery, the guests were invited to walk through a path of contemporary works: a curation made from diversity of creative practices, a window on the inspiration and imagination of commited visual artists.

Twenty five artists honored the GLF’s invitation to present their personal and sensitive approach to the forest and its ecosystems. GLF would like to express its gratitude to each of them, for their participation in this first edition and the harmony they built within nature: Hortense Ardalan, Agile Architecture, Marcella Barcelo, Apollinaria Broche, Caroline Carbasson, Ariel Claudet – Golem, Max Coulon, Paul Créange, Noémie de Yturbe, Cyril Debon, John Fou, Laura Garcia Karras, Alice Grenier Nebout, Pauline Guerrier, Marina Legall, Desirée Moheb Zandi, Solange Pessoa, Mario Picardo, Mateo Revillo, Edgar Sarin, Ugo Schildge, Sarah Valente.

The World-Tree by Francis Martin

In the afternoon, GLF welcomed Francis Martin, doctor in microbiology at the head of the A.R.B.R.E. laboratory of INRAE in Nancy (France).  For over 40 years, he has been exploring forests and the invisible mechanisms that give them life. His discovery on the symbiosis between fungus and trees revealed the primordial importance of these organisms in the forest ecosystem.

Francis Martin presented “Arbre-Monde”: a conference that associates the notion of sensitive tree to the interconnection constituting the web of life. He also highlighted  for the audience the upcoming challenges due to the global warming.

Afternoon whispering trees

All along the afternoon, theatrical representations and sound interventions were cadencing the sonority of the domain echoes. Remi, the historical manager of the wood, shared his enlightened knowledge of the arboretums. Nelson Delapalme and his acolytes performed, surprising the public in different areas of the Park.

Visitors could relax and enjoy an exceptional setting: chat, play games and learn about the endowment fund’s projects.

Dinner under the forest vault

At the sunset, guests enjoyed a local and sofisticated meal by the trees of the Park. The place designed and built by the famous gardener Le Nôtre resounded, for one evening, with the laughter of more than 200 guests.

LAO light show

To close the meal and initiate the festivities, a magical sound and light show orchestrated by LAO brought the trees to life.

Carried by the breeze, the leaves were then mixed with a luminous and sound composition resonating in the undergrowth. Suddenly, the forest was transformed, revealed by this living and immersive work.

Music in the wood

The evening started with the sound of Pirogue Band and Poudre Noire. Later in the night, guests and artists enjoyed together the line up. A unique and unforgettable experience for our visitors of a night.
